On second thought, I’m returning the recently received 32” LG UltraFine 6k.

I do really like it, but I can’t quite love it. The matte finish makes things look washed out compared to the older UltraFine 5k glossy finish. Those 5k monitors were announced and released with Apple, during the release of earlier MacBook Pros. For all their faults, they were very Apple-like in how they worked. No buttons, no settings, no on-screen junk. You plug them in, and they work (or don’t). Just like Apple monitors – and I loved it. They gave up on that here… ugly on-screen messages, popups when going to sleep, slower wake-ups, etc.

I really hope Apple makes a 32” Studio Display someday. In the meantime, I’m going to bank this refund and keep saving up for a Pro XDR version 2.

The LG UltraFine 6k (poor man’s XDR) has arrived! I was pleasantly surprised that it’s matte instead of glossy. 😎 Somehow my old MacBook Pro M1 Max pushes the 6k, two UltraFine 5ks, and the native screen.

I’m not sure how much is too much pixels, but I’ll let you know if I find out.

For all its (over-scrutinized) drawbacks, I really love the iPhone Air. It’s a joy to hold… one of my favorite phones ever.

I don’t open instagram very often, but when I do I seem to buy something every other time.

Pulled this diamondback watersnake out of the neighbors fish pond. For a short second I thought it was a Cottonmouth when it flared it’s head into a big triangle, but then it relaxed. He’s enjoying a remote creek far from people now.

A lost art.
